Cheer Call-Outs for NWI's premier cheer team, the All-Star Angels, were held on April 27, 2014.  If you were unable to join us, please call the gym for details.

 

Cheerleaders will be assessed and placed on team according to their skill level.  Multiple child discounts are available, as well as, mulitple sport discounts for our gymnasts.

Cheer Teams & Competitions

Boys & Girls ages 4-18 of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.  The Angels teams currently consists of Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior and Seniors.  We have teams from levels 1-4.

Our cheer team is the most accomplished team in Northwest Indiana.  We currently have 11 teams (Tiny, Mini, Youth, 2 Junior, and 4 Senior teams).  Our cheerleaders consist of boys and girls ages 4-18.  Our current teams compete at several different levels, ranging from level 1 - level 4.  We are always open to trying new teams and levels though!  So, keep watching for new and exciting addtions to our All-Star Angels.

The Age of the competitor as of August 31, 2013 will be the age used for competition purposes throughout the 2013-2014 season for all divisions. In compliance with the USASF Age Grid Rules.

Tiny Level 1 – Twinkle

The Tiny Level 1 (USASF Levels  1) consists of athletes 5 years old and younger. This team provides our little ones opportunities to get out in front of a crowd and perform. Tumbling skills are focused on Forward and Backward Rolls, Cartwheels, Round offs, Back Bend kick overs, and back walkovers. This team practices 2 days a week for 1 hour a day.
 

Mini Level 1 – Shimmer

The Mini Level 1 (USASF Levels  1) consists of athletes 8 years old and younger. This team moves beyond the basics and progresses the younger ones into the more difficult aspects of competitive cheer. Basic tumbling, stunting, arm motion technique, and stunts are taught during this level. The Mini Level 1's practice (2) one and one half hour practices per week.
 
Junior Level 2 – Sparkle
 
The Junior Level 2 team (USASF Level 2) consists of athletes ranging in age from 14 years old and younger. These kids are exceptional athletes with great skill potential. Level 2 team members are expected to perform, with proper training, standing back handsprings, front handsprings, running multiple back/front handsprings with back flips as well as strong jumps, motions, and stunt techniques.  The Junior Level 2s will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Chicagoland. Northwest Indiana and Central Indiana areas. The Junior Level 2s practice 3 hours per week.
  
Junior Level 3 – Carbon
  
The Junior Level 3 team (USASF Level 3) consists of athletes ranging in age from 14 years old and younger. These kids are exceptional athletes with some years of experience. Specific intermediate level skills are required to make this team. Level 3 team members are expected to perform, with proper training, standing multiple handsprings, working standing back tucks, round off back handspring back tucks, working layouts, standing multiples to back tucks, twisting from any two footed extended stunt, full release pyramids, twisting basket tosses, as well as strong jumps, motions, and stunt techniques.  The Junior Level 3s will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Chicagoland. Northwest Indiana and Central Indiana areas. The Junior Level 3s practice 3 hours per week.
 
Senior Level 1 – Diamonds
 
The Senior Level 1 team (USASF Level 1) consists of athletes ranging in age from 10 years old and older. These kids are beginner to intermediate level athletes with limited experience. We teach an introduction to basic tumbling, stunting, arm motion technique, and stunts. The Senior Level 1s will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Chicagoland. Northwest Indiana and Central Indiana areas. The Senior Level 1s practice 3 hours per week.
  
Senior Level 3 – Platinum
 
Senior Level 3 (USASF Levels 3) consists of athletes ranging in age from 18 years old to as young as 10. Specific intermediate to advanced level skills are required to make this team. Developed as a senior intermediate/advanced team, skills required include but are not limited to standing multiple handsprings, working standing back tucks, round off back handspring back tucks, working layouts, standing multiples to back tucks, twisting from any two footed extended stunt, full release pyramids, twisting basket tosses, hyper extended jumps, extremely sharp-tight arm motions, and a positive-disciplined-focused mental attitude. The Senior 3 team will have (1) 3 hour practice and a tumbling class is highly recommended. 
  
Senior Level 5 – Steel
  
Senior Level 5 (USASF Level 5 ) consists of athletes ranging in age from 18 years old to as young as 12. This is our top advanced Senior All-Star team available for those athletes whom possess the drive for excellence and the ambition and work ethic to be the best. Ahtletes MUST be able to perform Jumps to tuck; round off back handspring full; double fulls; standing back handsprings to fulls; advanced combinations passes. They will be working to increase their level 5 skills throughout the year.

AN ATHLETE MUST HAVE ALL THE TUMBLING SKILLS LISTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THAT LEVEL.
